Some people develop fat deposits below the chin that are difficult to eliminate even with exercise and diet—commonly referred to as a "double chin." The fat-dissolving injection selectively dissolves these fat cells with a compounded phosphatidylcholine solution, individually prepared in the pharmacy. A well-known international ready-made product for this indication (Kybella/Belkyra) is no longer available in the EU—therefore, I work with the tried-and-tested compounded formula.
Who is this treatment suitable for?
- Slight to moderate fat deposits under the chin that do not decrease significantly through diet and exercise.
- Firm to moderately sagging skin — for severely sagging skin, a surgical procedure is usually more effective; we will discuss this openly in the initial consultation.
- No active skin infection in the treatment area
Sequence
The solution is injected directly into the fatty tissue under the chin using several small injections—each session lasts about 30 minutes. The fat cells are broken down over the following weeks through the body's natural metabolism; therefore, the result is gradual, not immediate.
After the treatment
Redness, swelling, and a feeling of tightness in the treated area are normal and usually subside within seven days. Depending on the initial findings, one to three sessions spaced several weeks apart are recommended.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is this the same treatment as Kybella or Belkyra?
Kybella/Belkyra is no longer available as a finished product in the EU. Instead, I use a compounded phosphatidylcholine solution, which is individually prepared in the pharmacy—the principle of action (dissolving fat cells by injection) is comparable.
How many sessions will I need?
Usually 1 to 3 sessions are needed, spaced several weeks apart, depending on the amount of fatty tissue. We will determine this together during the initial consultation.
Is the treatment painful?
Similar to other injection treatments: short injections, with numbing cream available upon request. A burning or tightening sensation for a few minutes to several hours afterwards is possible.
