Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring substance in the body. When used as a cross-linked gel, it can support structures, balance proportions, and replace volume lost over the years. For me, it's not about maximizing volume, but about achieving harmony: A good result goes unnoticed, except for the fact that you look more refreshed.
What hyaluronic acid can do — and what it can't —
Fillers replace structure and volume. They are effective for loss of contour, sagging cheeks, a lack of chin or jawline definition, and wrinkles caused by volume loss. They are less effective for skin quality, pigmentation, and fine lines—other procedures exist for those. And they are not a substitute for a facelift: where the skin is significantly slack, more volume makes the face look heavier, not younger.

The process
- Analysis of the entire face. I don't treat the spot you're pointing at, but the cause. Often it lies elsewhere.
- Planning and reconnaissance. What will be done, what it costs, what risks are involved, what is not possible. Written consent.
- Treatment. Depending on the area, a needle or blunt cannula is used. The preparations used contain a local anesthetic; a numbing cream can also be applied. The procedure takes 30 to 45 minutes.
- Follow-up examination after two weeks. Only then will the swelling be gone and the result assessable.

Depending on the product, area treated, and individual metabolism, hyaluronic acid fillers last approximately six to eighteen months. Areas with more movement, such as the lips, degrade faster than areas with less movement, such as the chin or jawline. The degradation process is gradual, not sudden.
Safety: what happens if something goes wrong
This is the part most websites omit. Hyaluronic acid fillers are dissolvable: The enzyme hyaluronidase allows for the targeted removal of the material—both if you are not satisfied with the result and in case of emergency. Hyaluronidase is available in the practice and is also offered as a separate service.
The most serious complication is vascular occlusion, which occurs when material enters a blood vessel. It is rare but real, and it is the reason for anatomical knowledge, slow injection, small amounts, and the use of blunt needles in critical areas. After the treatment, you will be given a number to contact me at, and you should call if you experience unusually severe pain, a whitish discoloration, or visual disturbances.
Other risks and side effects
- Swelling and bruising in the first few days — more pronounced on lips than elsewhere
- Pressure sensitivity, redness
- Palpable irregularities or nodules
- Asymmetry, which is usually correctable during follow-up examinations.
- Rarely, infections or delayed inflammatory reactions may occur, even months later.
- Very rarely, vascular occlusion with tissue damage occurs.
Treatment is not recommended during pregnancy and breastfeeding, in cases of acute infections or inflammation in the treatment area, in cases of known hypersensitivity, and in cases of certain autoimmune diseases without prior clarification.
Aftercare — what to keep in mind
- No sports, no sauna, no tanning bed for 24 hours
- Do not knead or massage treated areas unless otherwise discussed.
- Cooling is allowed, but do not apply ice directly to the skin.
- Dental procedures should preferably be avoided during the first two weeks.

Hyaluronic acid treatment for lips, cheeks, jawline, chin and other areas: 380 € Each appointment lasts approximately 25 minutes.

When I advise against it
If the desired result cannot be achieved with volume alone. If there is already a lot of material available and the answer is to add more material. If someone brings along a role model whose face is structured differently than their own. And if the desire arises from an acute stress situation—then waiting is the better recommendation.

Can you see fillers?
Bad ones, yes; good ones, no. It becomes noticeable through quantity and incorrect level, not through the material itself.
Can it be undone?
Yes. Hyaluronic acid is soluble in hyaluronidase. This is a significant safety advantage over permanent fillers, which is precisely why I don't use them.
How soon can I be among people again?
For most areas, the results are immediate, with possible slight swelling. For lips, allow two to five days for the procedure to take effect, during which time they will appear significantly fuller than at the end.
Does the treatment hurt?
The preparations contain a local anesthetic; a numbing cream can also be used. Most people find the treatment quite tolerable.
When will I see the final result?
The result is immediately visible, but can only be definitively assessed after about two weeks, when the swelling has completely subsided — that is when the follow-up examination takes place.
What is the difference between hyaluronic acid and Botox®?
Hyaluronic acid provides shape and volume. Botulinum toxin It relaxes muscles and smooths wrinkles caused by movement, such as frown lines or forehead lines. Often, the two procedures complement each other.
